Just wanted to get your attention...hee hee. If you're involved in Week 7, let me know what's jumping off the pages at you.
Day 2's anti-legalism is great, I think. I love the observation right off that no one claims to be legalistic, but everyone has a list of people, churches, etc. Of course, we're never on our own list! Isn't that too true? I like that right off she doesn't allow you to wander to "those" people who are so legalistic.
Time to start looking at our own hearts, huh?! I know mine's not all pretty. I LOVE to know, however, that God shows Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are completely His (2 Chr 16:9). Quite a motivation for a clean, pure, tender, and undivided heart, huh?!
What you got to say??????????????????/

Are You Out There?!?!
It's Friday. We're over the halfway mark. What did you learn this week? Did God reveal something to you this week? Share with us! I am so eager to hear.
We had a great time last Friday night. We missed you. Since the last of March is Spring Break for a lot of us, we talked about rescheduling and trying to meet before the end of the month. I'll email you about a date.
Let's save this space for what we are learning.

Don't Give up Now!!
Hey gals. I'm trying out some of the dishes from our study tonight. If you find out last minute that you can come, join us. 7 pm Friday.
We're at the half-way mark now. Please forge ahead. Don't give up! Every day you get into God's Word is valuable, one of those lasting things. So what if you have gotten behind? No reason you can't go at your own pace.
Wherever you are, let us know on the blog under comments what you're learning, and how you are growing. It's wonderful to share your testimony (what is God doing in and thru you here and now!!)
Be looking on email for a note with an attachment. A friend who did a different study on idols has some excellent, hands-on resources regarding idols. I'll forward to you.
Love, Jenny

Whoo-hoo! Get together this Friday finally here!
Woo-hoo! At the end of the this week, I hope you find yourself at my house, 2037 Patriot Way, Indpendence, at 7pm. I went to the grocery today, and am prepared to try out some of the recipes in our study! If you wanna come before 7 (around 6:30) come on and we'll plan on eating and getting started with discussion at 7pm. Please let me know if you can attend!!!!!!
Aside from that, this is week 4 of our study. I loved reading and meditating on Rachel and Leah. While I've never had to "co-share" a husband, sadly, I could relate all too well to both Rachel and Leah in my life situations. What about you?????
Be sure to look under the last post for new comments also. There are some great points on there. God is awesome! Feel free to post whatever you feel led to share whether you're on week 4 or not. I want to hear from you. I love you dearly!!
See you Friday (and hope to read from you before that)! Jenny

What???
I'm going to be real non-wordy here so that I can hear YOU...yes YOU. Please tell me what God is revealing to you through this study. It doesn't have to be profound in your eyes, and it doesn't have to be a new teaching to you. Whatever you want to say. Can even be from Day 1!
I can't wait to read your comments, and see where the conversation goes. Conversation does require your participation though. So, start typing.
LOVE you and already getting into Week 3 of the study. Jenny

What is God saying to you?
"Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased." [From The Weight of Glory, p. 113]
I was reminded of this quote above after finishing Day 4. How often do we make idols out of what starts as a gift from God? Even as Christians, dedicated ones at that, we settle! I was struck how I often settle for a little bit, a mere portion of what God has given, instead of all of it. How small my spiritual eyes! Girls, I don't know about you, but I want to see big. I don't want to settle, not a day, but fully live out this life God has prepared for me. When it comes to Him (His joy, love, forgiveness, life, peace, etc., etc.), we can want and have it all!!
Please share what God is teaching you. Love, Jenny

Week 2 Starts Friday
Hi girls! Brianna had a question about timing of study. There are 5 days in each week of study. So, we started on last Friday. That means this Friday (tomorrow) 2/8, we will start week 2.
If you're behind, no worries. Get started as soon as you get your book. The days of study are short, and I think you'll have no problem getting caught up. Please pray for Rachel and her family. You may have noticed her comment today. She and family have been really sick, and a lot to deal with as she has new little one and two other preschoolers. lol Rachel!
FYI: On our get-together at end of February, we'll discuss bottom of page 26 and page 27 in particular. Be ready to share your "creative reflection" as it calls for on page 27. Can't wait! Until then, share your thoughts with me. love, jenny

Well into Week One!
Hi gals. At this point, you should be well into week 1. We're doing a Friday to Friday schedule of weeks.
What are you learning? Toni and Brianna shared some great thoughts under comments on the first post. Sounds like Bri, Toni and I all agreed. Our initial reaction to idols was, "ugh, no not me. i wouldn't do that." We quickly saw in the definitions, room to examine our daily lives and thoughts and what they show.
I had to spend some time with God regarding the statement on Day 4 at end of pg 23. "Ask Him to reveal to you if there is an area of your life you've been using for your own gain."
We often think of "gain" monetarily, and if you're like me, you're serving and giving of your time with no dinero on the other end ;). I found that I had to look at my motives for why I do what I do (even if those things are worthy and godly thing). Often times for me, I start something with a calling from God and an intention to bring Him glory, but somewhere in the middle, it turns into a desire for me to find my own worth in the thing. Sound familiar to any of you? I believe this idol stuff goes well beyond our time and money, but we also have to look at our thoughts and desires.
Let us hear from you! Don't be afraid to type your comments! Be sure to check regularly under comments, and respond. Love you! Jenny

WELCOME!
Well gals, here we are...ready to embark on a new adventure with God. I'm so thankful to be on the journey with each of you. I have no doubt that God hand-picked each one of us to form this group. I've been praying for us to have open eyes and hearts to what He plans to reveal.
This is new for me, the computer part at least. I think it will work for us. Please make comments, and for now, try and test it out making sure you know how to post comments. The plan will be to make a post, like this one, to foster discussion and from there you make comments based on what you are learning during your study, etc. Hop on the blog at any time and let us know what you are thinking. I'm going to start Day 1 of the study on Feb. 1st, and will try to make a post a day or two into starting. Please feel free to comment as you are led. Keep in mind: This is open viewing...don't make any comments so personal that such information could hurt you or someone else. Please remember to encourage and love one another, building one another up in the body of Christ as we share and respond to comments. You can also join in on the "big" blog of women around country doing study at http://www2.lifeway.com/livingroomseries/index.php?/main/ .
Be sure and mark Friday, February 29th and Friday, March 28th on your calendar. We'll get together, in person :), on those evenings to discuss in depth, hang out, eat, and maybe eat some more! I can't wait to get to know you all better!
Now get commenting...love, jenny
Ephesians 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
